About

Revolution They Wrote— Short Works Feminist Theatre and Performance Festival

Quebec, Montreal

Revolution They Wrote aims to establish a space where the values of feminism and theatre/performance meet. We seek to provide opportunities to explore performative modes of expression. Revolution They Wrote is the only company to host a Feminist Theatre Festival in Montreal, and with this we hope to  demonstrate  the value and importance of feminist and femme-focused work. Our aim is to validate and lend authority to the experiences and stories of femme, queer and female identifying artists.

Our objective is to train and empower artists to utilize the theory of feminism and the creative practice of theater.

What does feminist theatre and performance mean? We are open to any style or approach, however for a work to be considered feminist it needs to center on equality and the intersections of gendered oppression.
