Journey To Free

The story of a young black woman rediscovering and affirming her intersectional feminine identity through poetic prose and Haitian folkloric songs. Journey to free explores the trauma of a mother land as both a physical body and a physical nation. It shows how the ultimate freedom for those battling with intergenerational trauma is not achieved via assimilation but rather through the radical acclamation of one’s unique heritage and individuality.
